With this intensive workshop, you will create a series of prints in this unique and accessible printmaking technique. Collagraphy is a collage printmaking technique, and can be created using everyday materials such as leaves, card, wallpaper, string, tissue paper, gauze, scrim, fabric, lace, feathers can produce wonderfully textured and sophisticated images. Screen Printing

£20 per person 

This fun and practical printmaking workshop will teach you how to create a professional quality print by transforming an image into a stencil. Your stencil is used on the screen to print your design onto a canvas bag and t-shirt. You don’t even need to draw! You could print a design of your choice from home to bring along with you. At the end of the workshop you will have designed, created and screen printed two unique products which are yours to take home and keep or give as presents.*

*Notes about the workshop: All you need to bring is a design to work from, this can be hand drawn or a print out from your computer. You will be cutting the image out to make a stencil (so try not to make it too complicated) maximum size of the design is 30cm x 30cm. Please bring an apron to wear. The canvas tote bag and tea towel will be of the same print. The final prints will be in one colour. All printing materials are supplied. Prints are permanent after ironing and fully washable at up to 40°C. Paints are non-toxic.

Working directly but loosely from teasel specimen, you will develop washes of deep golds against blue skies and create the spiked forms with expressive use of inks and watercolour using a variety of techniques which Jackie will demonstrate. You will be working with watercolours, acrylic inks on a substantial quality Bockingford paper. We will use a size 8 or 10 all-rounder watercolour brush, a mop and a fine rigger. Week 4-’Chilly Landscapes’

Working from photographs, Jackie’s resources or from your own sketches, you will develop a snowy or frosty landscape in washes of cool blues and purples against blue skies.  Watercolour tree forms will emerge using expressive brushstrokes working with the wet on wet technique. You will then experiment with deeper washes and acrylic inks to drape a veil of tree forms and some undergrowth using a variety of techniques demonstrated by Jackie. You will be working with watercolours, acrylic inks on a substantial quality Bockingford paper. We will use a size 8 or 10 all-rounder watercolour brushes, a mop and a fine rigger. Week 5-’Polar Bears and Penguins’

With this workshop, you will be thinking forward to potential Christmas card designs. Here you will be working from photographs, drawing lightly first to create images of polar bears and penguins. You will develop these creatures with softly-painted watercolour washes in a variety of techniques demonstrated by Jackie. Including splashes and specs of white gouache over deep washes. You will use a size 8 or 10 all-rounder watercolour brush, a mop and a fine rigger. Drawing will be minimal. You will be working with watercolours on substantial weight watercolour paper.
